Over the past few months, two Belgian bloggers who I admire a lot have been working on a new pattern: the Tulip dress and Top. When I was asked to join the blog tour, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. Katrien and Eva have been so important to my own blog, as testers, blog tour participants, and all-round lovely friends and supporters. But more importantly: the Tulip pattern is a stunner, which I just had to make!
I went for the dress version, and used a hidden zipper in the back.
The fabric I used is a lovely cinnamon linen I bought at Urban Sew (just one more yard available in cinnamon, but more colors here).
I combined it with gold piping around the petals.
For the pictures, we went to the MAS museum in Antwerp. My kids always enjoy being there, going higher and higher up the building with the escalators, while enjoying the different views over Antwerp which come with each new floor.
There are a lot of layers to this dress, so for the lining, I used a very fine voile from Cloud 9 (this one).
Getting the dress together was easy, as the instructions are very clear and well-written. Both Norah and I were very, very happy with the result. Thank you so much, Katrien and Eva, for inviting us!
