A few days ago, Sara from Made By Sara delivered her fourth baby, a beautiful baby boy. We teamed up with a (big) bunch of bloggers to create a wonderful surprise for her: we all sewed something for our beloved Portuguese friend, and are blogging about it at the exact same time.

From my part, I decided to go bananas and make a little sweater for baby boy. I used Laura’s excellent Rowan Tee pattern, and made the smallest size (1y).

It’s a bit crazy, but I hope that Sara will like this true Belgian style garment nonetheless.

Fabric is Summer sweat from Bambiblauw. Just like with my last sweater project, for a more sophisticated look I used the sweater fabric as ribbing, instead of using actual ribbing. I must admit, though, that it makes the neck line less than perfect. Because sweater fabric stretches less than ribbing does, the neck line isn’t perfectly flat. Luckily, when sweaters are worn by cute little babies, no one is paying attention to the neck line ribbing anyway 😉
