A few years ago, I bought two pieces of nani IRO Waltz double gauze at Miss Matatabi: the purple and the red/blue version. I didn’t really have a project in mind for them; I just knew that I wanted them in my stash before they were sold out.
A few years on, they are effectively (almost?) impossible to find for sale, as is the pink version which I bought in the mean time and turned into this baby blanket.
Norah has been asking for new skirts lately, and I decided finally use the purple one (which is just 0.5 m) for a super simple lined skirt (using this tutorial).
I finished the skirt a few weeks ago, and then had it lying around for a while, as we were waiting for nice weather to take a few pics.
I really loved the selvage of the fabric. I didn’t have the heart to just chop off the cute colored dots, so I left them in.
I’m really looking forward to June, which will be nani IRO Month over at Miss Matatabi. A number of very talented bloggers and I will be sewing with nani IRO’s new line, which is truly stunning. Stay tuned 🙂
