I was so happy to be asked to join the Baby Shower Tour for Laura from Craftstorming. I’ve known Laura online for quite a while now, and a few months ago, I was also lucky enough to meet her in real life. She’s a very kind, funny and smart lady, so I really loved making something for her.
Bibs are not very original baby shower gifts, but I really do like giving them. Everybody needs bibs, and you can never get enough of them I think. Even is the recipient thinks they are butt ugly, then at least they are useful (which cannot be said of baby clothes, for instance). And finally, when I gave birth, I often got rather small and unpractical bibs, so I automatically and potentially wrongfully assume that every new mother is thrilled to receive big, absorbent bibs with long straps.
I couldn’t help but notice that Laura likes things twisted (think of her Twisted Trousers and Twisted Tank Top patterns)…
… so I made her twisted bibs. The fabrics are a mix of Cotton Couture Solids, Cirrus Solids, and Land of Oh. The pattern I started from are my own Piece of Cake bibs.
Dear Laura, I’m writing this post from a toilet in a hotel room in New York (yes, the lid is down, don’t worry), so I’m going to keep it short. I hope that you and your family are enjoying little Willow, and I don’t doubt that she will grow up to be a very happy little lady. Take good care of each other!
