A few weeks ago, Kim Nauwelaers of the Belgian fabric shop Juffertje Uil asked me whether I was interested in working with a panel of her own line of hand printed fabrics.
I immediately fell in love with the pictures she sent, so I said yes without hesitation. The prints are just lovely, and perfect for so many different projects. I chose a white panel with a gold print of bird cages. It reminded me of my visits to Hong Kong, where the local bird market was always full of such small, round bird cages.
The print was just perfect for a sweet little baby sleep sack. In spite of what you might think, ceci n’est pas un Lua! No Ma’am, you’re looking at an Ava sleep sack. This pattern will be released in about a week. But not on my blog. That’s all I’ll be sharing with you for now. StraightGrain, aka The Mistress of Suspense.
But let’s return to the fabric. Working with it was a real joy. The fabric is light and finely woven, and the gold print is even prettier in real life than on the pictures.
Kim has a number of handmade different prints, and does not only print on white fabrics. Here are some of my favorites:

And here’s the best news: Kim is giving away 1 panel of choice to a StraightGrain reader. Yay! Please use the Rafflecopter widget below (or here) to take your chance. As always, the give-away is open internationally. Double yay!
