Since Autumn has arrived, I have been working on expanding my girls’s wardrobes with some quick and simple projects. Ava only wants to wear skirts and sweaters at the moment, and while Norah still loves dresses, she’s also a big fan of sweaters.
I have also been caught by the sweater virus, and made one for myself in the grid fabric from See You At Six a few weeks ago. I had a lot of the fabric left, which I wanted to use for a sweater for Norah. However, as I started cutting, I found out that “a lot” just isn’t enough for my 7-year-old anymore. So I had to be a bit creative.
Luckily, I had some beautiful Nosh sweater fabric in my stash, which combined perfectly with the black-and-white grid. I inserted a contrasting triangle in the front panel, and then I did have enough fabric for a sweater.
The sweater is a few centimeters too long and too wide. I’m always so afraid of making things too small, that I tend to overcompensate and end up with garments which are too long and wide. But I bet that in a few months time, I’ll be happy with that.
I made a matching simple skirt in a beautiful fabric I received from Miss Matatabi a few years ago.
I’m pretty pleased with my unintentiontally creative sweater…
… and Norah is really happy with her unintentionally cool sweater. 😉
